From concept to completed wall — we offer the full range of rammed earth services, and can connect you with our preferred engineers, architects and trades.
300mm stabilised rammed earth walls for residential and commercial projects anywhere in Tasmania. We test all materials prior to construction — compression tests and clay/silt tests. Walls from garden scale up to 10 metres high.
400–450mm insulated walls achieving up to R4.3. One of the first systems of its kind in Australia, developed in 2005. Full engineering drawings for walls and lintels supplied. No thermal bridging at windows.
Rammed earth floors provide the same thermal mass and natural aesthetic as the walls — a seamless extension of the material. Suitable for slab-on-ground applications.
Rammed earth works beautifully as a feature element — interior feature walls, fireplaces, and commissioned art pieces. Any shape, any scale, anywhere in Tasmania.
Rammed earth design consultation, detailed drawings for lintel and insulated wall systems, solar energy requirements, and building ideas. We work alongside your architect or can refer you to designers experienced with rammed earth.
We have extensive knowledge of soils and gravels right across Tasmania. We source and test all materials — compression tests and clay/silt tests — so every wall performs from day one. We can source material and build anywhere on the island.
Call Chris to discuss your project, site and what you're hoping to achieve. We'll talk through wall types, orientations and whether standard or insulated suits your project best. No obligation.
We assess your site and source appropriate quarried gravels and sands. All materials are tested before a single form goes up — compression test and clay/silt test as standard.
We supply detailed engineering drawings for walls and lintels. We work with your building surveyor and can refer you to structural engineers who specialise in rammed earth — including Aldanmark Engineering.
Formwork is set, the earth mix is prepared and rammed in layers — each course adding to the characteristic strata pattern. Wall heights from 600mm to 10 metres, straight or curved.
Once the formwork comes down, the wall is essentially complete — no painting, no cladding, no further finishing required. The natural earth surface is the finished product.
We work with specialists who understand rammed earth construction. These are the people we trust and recommend to our clients.
Specialise in rammed earth construction. Our first recommendation for structural engineering and stamped drawings.
